Tony Succar
Tony Succar was born in Lima, Peru May 18th 1986. He arrived to Miami, Florida at the age of two. Tony, a jazz performance graduate from Florida International University, has a true passion for music. "I was privileged to have been born into a family of musicians, I couldn’t be more grateful”, he explained.

He has had the great honor to play several times with the great trumpet player Arturo Sandoval, from Cuba; with the Puerto Rican flutist and Grammy winner, Néstor Torres. Tony has also played with great artists such as Tania Libertad, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle, Oscar de Leon and has recorded with Peruvian guitarist Richie Zellon… He has also shared stages with the great Tito Nieves and Tito Rojas. Recently, Tony started to write after an inspiration. His first salsa song, “Manipula Dora”, has been broadcasted on radio and took the first place spot in the show “Salsa y Punto”. “I tell you people, you are going to hear a lot about Tony Succar... and you will hear from him with golden letters. This production has freaked me out and it is something to talk about”, said the host of the radio, Ricardo Sánchez.

This young artist has been influenced by Ray Barreto, Fania All-Stars, Chucho Valdez, Juan Luis Guerra, Miami Sound Machine, Los Van Van, Perú Negro, and many others. Like them, Tony wants to make an impact in the world with his music. Growing up with so many diverse styles, his goal is to compose music that will attract dancers but also be enjoyable to the listener. He has always had the ability to entertain while keeping his roots and origins in his music.

He’s currently the director of his band “Tony Succar y Mixtura” and dreams on performing around the world. His self-produced/recorded album, “El Color Del Tambor”, has been making its way into many radio stations and homes. For the past two years, his project has been creating a great buzz, not only in South Florida, but in South America and Europe as well (where he appeared on the  #1 Salsa website in Italy, salsa.it). His performance schedule has been very busy since the beginning of his project… And has brought his music to be performed next to the greats (such as Tito Nieves, Tito Rojas…)

Tony is a talented young artist totally focused on the success of his music. This is just the beginning of his career… you will be seeing/hearing great things from him in the near future. In addition to his professional goals, Succar believes that "life is a privilege and you have to let God guide you towards the right path in order to reach your fullest potential." He added "you cannot be worrying about money and materialistic things because it draws your heart away from your true implication."

He also likes doing magic tricks and playing soccer. Ohh.., and surprises are awesome!

Hello,

I just wanna say thanks for that nice Friday night last week. It was really great. I enjoyed the band so much and they played one of my favorite songs from Wayne Gorbea - Cogele Gusto.

Great. Wish you a nice night, I miss going to Yuca, but I'm back in Germany with the cold weather.

Yours,
Matthias

I am not the one that likes to stay late. Early to rise early to bed keep a woman young and her spirits high is my motto but the music last Friday was so good I could not help but dance and when I did not dance I listen to the music....I know, Saturday, I did not start at my usual 7 am bike ride ....but the weather is cooler...maybe is not so bad to stay up late sometimes...

Please continue playing! I love the DYNAMIC SALSA that this band plays because you can dance it with passion and energy. Slow romantic Salsa is great for easy listening in your car but boring on the dance floor. Dynamic, fast, energetic Salsa moves dancers and fills them with passion and energy.

I really enjoyed the rhythms and energy of Tony and his band. The repertoire was also on spot for the venue.

Tony Succar was great! The sound and the energy was a lot better than the previous singer. She was good, but Tony is better. Hope you can keep him playing at Yuca.

I was there last Friday and was very impressed with the professional level of the band. Tight rhythms and arrangements, vocals, everything !  I recommend a very simple trick to get the audience to notice you more...  Use a wireless mic and go out in the crowd to mingle or dance while you sing.  The people need a little push to realize they need to give you positive feedback..  That's showbiz right?

Hope you keep playing at Yuca....

Patrick
